Alexandra (Alex) Pratt, M.D.

Dr. Pratt is an Intensivist at Medstar Washington Hospital Center, a tertiary referral and Level 1 Trauma center, where she specializes in surgical critical care. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School, completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Critical Care fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. She is board certified in Critical Care and Neuro-Critical Care. Dr. Pratt has published and lectured on critical care management of left ventricular assist devices and on prognostication of devastating brain injury. As Chair of the Department of Critical Care and Critical Care Triage Officer at Medstar Washington Hospital Center, Dr. Pratt oversaw the care of more critically ill COVID patients than any other hospital in the Washington, DC region, and participated in the regional coordination of protocols and processes to manage the COVID surge within the Medstar System.
